What is a Power Animal?
A person's power is directly related to the power and wisdom of their animal allies. The person offers the spirit animal respect and devotion, while the animal spirit offers guidance and assistance beyond the person's skills and knowledge. Animal allies are used to find lost objects, mediate problematic relationships and in general assist in all difficult situations.
Everyone has power animals .These animal spirits walk with us giving us their power and protection from illness. They act similar to a guardian angel. Each power animal that you have increases your power so that illnesses or negative energy cannot enter your body. Each power animal has a specialty, so the person may need to consult with several if the problem has a variety of aspects to it.The animal spirit also lends you the wisdom of its kind. A hawk spirit will give you hawk wisdom, and lend you some of the attributes of seeing afar. A fox is known for intelligence and cunning.
How do you find your power animals? First of all, you don't chose an animal... they chose you. Everyone is thought to have seven of these guardian power animals at birth. The Ancients believed that the individual could not survive childhood without the protection of these animals.Over the course of a life time a person may have power animals come and go. If a power animal leaves and one does not come to take its place the individual is considered, by the shaman, to be disempower and therefore vulnerable to illness and bad luck.
Power animals can be mammals , reptiles, insects or sea creatures. Any living creature can serve as a power animal. (Plants and trees can serve as plant spirit guides.) Domesticated animals are generally not considered power animals because they already in service to human beings. It is possible to have a domesticated animal, but it is more likely to have a wild untamed animal serve in the capacity of a power animal.
The gifts that a particular animal gives to a person varies depending on the culture. Although there are certain consistencies for certain animals. A particular power animal can come to help you with an issue that is very specific for you.
